Q: Why would I want a service contract?
A: It's a great way to protect yourself from big repair bills. Some years you may need only a tune-up, but in others you may have several service calls. Nobody can predict exactly when your system will have a problem. Why take chances? Having a service plan protects your family against literally thousands of dollars in unexpected bills.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Your heating system needs a yearly tune-up to keep it running safe and clean, and to prevent large problems from developing. Done properly, it can save you as much as 10% on your annual fuel bills.
Normally, our tune-up runs $130 without parts. For just a little more, you can get a tune-up and the protection of one of our service plans.
For instance, here are the costs including labor of some typical repairs:
Burner motor | - | $162 | | Circulator | - | $245 | | Zone valve | - | $245 | | Triple aquastat | - | $450 |
Depending on the service plan you select, all of these repairs could be covered at no charge to you.
Q: Aren't all service contracts the same?
A: No. Some companies don't cover expensive parts or they leave out plumbing parts that their staff isn't capable of handling. Others don't let you choose the level of service coverage you need. Some even punish you for needing late-night service by charging an overtime fee. And, of course, every contract is only as good as the company that offers it.
Q: What will this contract do for me?
A: First, you get our annual Precision Tune-up. It is a cut above a regular tune-up. We adjust your oil burner to maximum efficiency using combustion analyzers, not guesswork. We safety check all operating controls, and even clean the chimney base, if necessary. The fuel savings that result from the higher efficiency can amount to 10% a year.
Our Basic Plan covers many of the things that typically go wrong with a heating system. By covering thousands of dollars worth of parts, it keeps your service costs under control.
The top level, our Extended Plan, is simply the best protection you can buy. It covers repairs that are less frequent but extremely expensive.
Q: Who does my service?
A: We maintain a full-time staff of highly trained state-licensed professional technicians who continually attend courses to stay up to date with the latest technology.
Q: Will I be charged for parts not covered by the service contract?
A: Yes. (Although there is very little that the Extended Plan doesn't cover.)
Q: Do you also cover central air conditioners?
A: Yes, we're experts at it. And when you get our A/C coverage along with a heating plan, you get a special savings.
Q: What are your service hours?
A: Our technicians take care of your service emergencies 24 hours a day, every day--including Sundays and holidays. Our regular work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday (we're also open on Saturdays in the winter months).
Q: What should I do if I have more than one burner, heating unit or some other special situation?
A: Call us and we will design a tailor-made plan that works for you.
